Toby Wells YMCA Community Room
FREE for Y Members

Jump Start for Health is the Skinny Gene Project’s diabetes prevention program. It is an evidence-based, lifestyle change program that is recognized by the CDC for effectively being able to help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. In collaboration with the Skinny Gene Project and Champions for Health, the Mission Valley Y is offering a member benefit to you as part of our Healthy Living initiative.

This one-year program, which is free to Y members, features four to six months of an intensive lifestyle modification program, followed by six to eight months of support to improve problem-solving and coping skills for long-term success.

This proven program can help people with prediabetes and/or at risk for type 2 diabetes make achievable and realistic lifestyle changes and cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58 percent.

Registration is open until October 31. Interested members will be placed in groups for the remainder of the program.
