Under the supervision of the PRYDE Program Coordinator, the Supervisor I (PRYDE) is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the children and staff at the site. Must be highly dependable and be willing to fulfill the job responsibilities in accordance with the program goals.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age and a high school graduate.
Professional preparation as a teacher of children, especially in childhood education or development or other related field.
Other acceptable fields could include recreation, physical education, program administration and elementary teaching credential units.
You must be sensitive, mature, and able to work with a culturally diverse population.
Major Functions
Plan, supervise and implement the program in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA.
Supervision of all site staff.
Effectively communicate with parents, staff, children and school administration.
Closely coordinate with school personnel in regards to the children and special events.
Accurately document attendance, absentees and emergency information on each child.
Follow all emergency procedures appropriate to the site and in conformity with the procedures adopted by the emergency service authorities to ensure the safety of all children.
Maintain up-to-date records on all children enrolled.
General house keeping duties necessary to maintain cleanliness and safety at the site.
Provide an environment that is orderly and educational and preserve the quality of supplies and equipment.
Plan and coordinate activities that fit the children's needs and interests and produce a monthly calendar of activities.
Provide needed direction and guidance to staff and program.
Be willing to play an active role in the Annual Support Campaign and be willing to serve as a team captain.
Take on responsibility in a leadership role during Vacation Fun Days and Camp.
