Instruct progressive level gymnastics classes. Able to teach basic gymnastics skills on all the Olympic Events. Take responsibility to maintain quality and safety in all classes.
Qualifications
CPR and First Aid Certification, must be within ninety days from date of hire. Knowledge of basic tumbling and gymnastics skills. Experience or desire working with children. Able to relate well with children and adults. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity. Physical and mental ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills (i.e.: spotting basic gymnastics skills)
Major Functions
Teach children rules and procedures of class. Maintain quality and safety in all classes. Basic knowledge of equipment use and conduct safety checks. Start and finish classes on time. Keep parents updated on progress of children. Distribute certificates of achievement and program evaluations to class participants. Follow scheduled class rotations and maintain class ratios. Keep equipment in good shape and return to storage area at the end of class. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and trainings. Always project a positive image of the YMCA.
