Innovation Center

The Jackie Robinson Family YMCA is committed to decreasing the digital divide in our community by providing kids and families the tools and training they need be successful in school and the workplace.

Founded in October 2001 with assistance from Cox Communications, the Innovation Center at Jackie Robinson Family YMCA contains 11 computer workstations with high-speed Internet service.

The Innovation Center provides participants:

  • Technology fun for children including age-appropriate games and after-school programs.
  • Websurfing and email including access to FaceBook, Instagram and other social media.
  • Use of any standard Microsoft Office program, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Much more!

A recent volunteer-led remodeling project has reestablished the Innovation Center as a warm, welcoming area with a variety of opportunities for youth, adults, and families to learn and grow.

In the future, the Innovation Center will be offering free classes on a variety of computer basics. If you are interested in volunteering as a tech lab monitor or instructor, please click here.
