THE Y FOR

HEALTHY LIVING

We focus our work in three key areas, because nurturing the potential of kids, helping people live healthier, and supporting our neighbors are fundamental to strengthening communities.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Youth Development

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

“I’m 16 years-old, I go to Lincoln High School and I am currently in the 11th grade. I have three sisters and one brother. I love to play sports like soccer, football, lacrosse and basketball.

I am so happy that I don’t have to sneak in or jump through the back to get in the Y anymore. Everybody knows me now since I’ve been doing it for a while.

I like coming to the Y because it keeps me out of trouble and I love to work out. Everybody is nice at the Y but I haven’t been able to buy a membership because my mom isn’t working and is taking care of my little sister.

I would like to one day work at the Y, helping my own community by teaching and taking care of the children so they can grow up to be healthy and active.

I wanted a Y membership because I can work out, lift weights, run and just stay fit and have the ripped body I always wanted. Before I would be really embarrassed about being fat but now I am working on it and I am really motivated to make a change.

My Y membership helps me stay healthy and keeps me on track. It helps me make better decisions and not do bad stuff outside. It also helps me be with my friends and makes me very competitive.

I am very grateful for my Y sponsorship. I have a long way to go but with my membership, I will keep coming to the Y and keep making good lifestyle choices.”
