These classes are designed to teach participants ages 3 to 5 years of age self confidence while developing their water skills. Our swim instructors encourage water safety, personal growth, stroke development, and fun. Parents must accompany their child to each swim lesson. Some classes may be combined depending upon the registration for particular classes. Please see below for the individual classes, descriptions and fees.

Choose from the following levels:

  • Stage C: Water Independence
    Ages 2 - 3 years
This class is designed to help children make a smooth transition from Swim Starters into Stage 1. Children will learn front and back floating, kicking, independent swimming, confidence in deep water and they will begin to develop breath control. Participants are required to wear tight-fitting swim diapers while in the pool.
  • Stage 1: Water Acclimation

Students develop comfort with underwater exploration and learn to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage lays the foundation that allows for a student’s future progress in swimming.

  • Stage 2: Water Movement
    Ages 3 - 5 years
In this stage, students focus on body position and control, directional change, and forward movement in the water while also continuing to practice how to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water.

  • Stage 3: Water Stamina
    Ages 3 - 5 years
In this stage, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.
  • Stage 4: Stroke Introduction
    Ages 3 - 5 years
Students in this stage develop stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and learn the breaststroke kick and butterfly kick. Water safety is enforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.
