How do I become a military respite provider?

Military families who have children with special needs can utilize in-home or out-of-home respite providers.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience working with children, or experience in the Special Needs field or other Health fields
  • Complete Pediatric CPR and First Aid
  • Must clear a background screening
  • Reliable transportation, telephone and e-mail
  • Complete Child Abuse Awareness Training

Where do I take health and safety training classes?

How do I further my education?

If you are working in a CDE/EESD funded classroom, learn about how you can participate in AB212 CARES, a program that provides a stipend for child care staff if they continue education in child development or related field.
