Why the Y?
Mission Valley YMCA has been offering outstanding summer camps for more than 30 years. We believe that every young person is a unique individual with his/her own rate of development. Our goal is to introduce children and teens to as many new experiences as possible and help each child feel confident and secure in a fun, safe camp environment. YMCA day camps challenge children to grow in imagination, creativity, self-directed initiative, and leadership.
We are dedicated to changing the lives of our campers by creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. All of our YMCA day camps have been voluntarily accredited by the American Camp Association. Accreditation identifies those programs which offer a solid foundation of health, safety and program quality. Our day camps exceed the highest standards in the camp industry — solid proof of our accountability, credibility and commitment to providing the best summer experience. For more information regarding ACA standards please visit www.acacamps.org.

LEADERS-IN-TRAINING (L.I.T.) PROGRAM
L.I.T. — Beginner Trainee & Returner Review
These L.I.T. programs are for teens ages 13-17
who want to become and official L.I.T. They must
be completed prior to L.I.T. placement. All trainings operate under Mission Valley YMCA Day
Camp. To register for L.I.T. — Beginner
Trainee and/or Returner Review, see
the Mission Valley Y website.
After your teen completes one of the L.I.T. programs (Beginner Trainee or Returner Review), he or she will become an official L.I.T., and is eligible to enroll into L.I.T./C.I.T. Placement during the remainder of the camp season. L.I.T.s will be assigned to assist our talented day camp staff with the daily operation of a particular camp. This program provides an
excellent opportunity for teens to learn hands-on job experience and responsibilities, while still under the supervision of our camp staff team. Additionally, all hours completed within L.I.T. Placement can be recorded as community service hours!
PLEASE NOTE: All training is based out of Mission
