Remembrance Rescue Project

Remembrance Rescue

The Remembrance Rescue Project will make a stop at Toby Welle YMCA from 9-11 a.m., Thursday, September 8. The project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserve and share two surviving FDNY rescue trucks (Rescue 4 and 5) that responded to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Rescue 5 is currently hosted by the San Diego Fire Department.

Rescue 5 has artifacts recovered at Ground Zero with kid-friendly illustrations and age-appropriate curriculum to encourage active learning and inspire service within each community. Children and adults can see, touch and learn about the history and stories of heroics and benevolence that carry forward today. The Project is supported by volunteer firefighters who support the two mobile exhibits.
