Annual Campaign KickoffWe're off and running on our Annual Campaign, with a goal of $243,000 that will go directly to those in the community who rely on the Y for help.
Using the great art of Spoken Word, check out this amazing way to showcase the YMCA of San Diego County. Featured in this piece: Mission Valley YMCA, Toby Wells YMCA and the Copley-Price Family YMCA.
The Community’s Need:It’s a fact that strong, stable, secure families form a solid foundation for the growth and success of all family members, particularly children in low-income areas. We are committed to reaching out to kids and families regardless of income, to provide support by engaging in the Y.
Our Commitment:We have a vision to significantly increase the time families spend together, and specifically, to engage 1 in 8 households in programs that will help family members of all ages and backgrounds learn, grow and thrive. Last year, the YMCA of San Diego County raised $6,174,320 to provide scholarships and subsidies to fulfill our mission to serve all people regardless of their ability to pay. The need is urgent and growing…and it can’t be met without you!
The Impact of Your Investment:Our Association-led annual campaign focuses on supporting our highest-need communities throughout San Diego County. When you invest in the Y, your dollars will directly benefit kids and families in underserved communities.
Why Your Gift Matters
NATIONWIDE CAMPAIGN TO CHANGE COMMUNITIES
We’re helping San Diegans, just as thousands of volunteers are impacting communities across the country.
WHAT IT IS & WHAT IT DOES
The Annual Campaign is the "lifeblood" of the YMCA and is conducted annually by dedicated volunteers to secure charitable donations from individuals, companies, foundations and community organizations. These funds help to ensure that no one is ever left behind regardless of their financial circumstance. Last year, over 100 community volunteers were able to raise nearly $200,000 to provide programming and scholarships for youth, families and seniors.
Copley-Price Family YMCA is a place where everyone is welcome regardless of race, age, religion or financial standing. We focus specifically on providing children and teens with safe outlets, positive role models and opportunities achieve their full potential.
The Annual Support Campaign is also an opportunity to give back to the community. Copley-Price Family YMCA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to helping children and families live healthier and more productive lives in spirit, mind and body.
Because of you, our Y remains and grows as a place of HONESTY, CARING, RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY for ALL. If you wish to support Copley-Price Family YMCA with an Annual Campaign gift or join as a Campaign Volunteer, please contact Kacie Desmond, email@example.com, 619-280-9622.
Your gift strengthens OUR community.
The Community's need:At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. We believe that positive, lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. We are dedicated to reaching out and strengthening kids and families regardless of income across the mid-city neighborhoods including:
- City Heights
- Allied Gardens
- Normal Heights
- North Park
- South Park
- Del Cerro and beyond!
Our Commitment:We are forever committed to never turning away an interested youth, adult, senior or family due to inability to pay. Our YMCA welcomes everyone and is available for everyone, all with the highest quality of programming and services to help strengthen youth, families, seniors and our community. To fit our community needs for the upcoming year, Copley-Price Family YMCA and the annual support campaign provide nearly $500,000 in scholarships to families across mid-city San Diego. TOMORROW'S LEADERS ...TODAYCarlos first came to Copley-Price Family YMCA at age 11. As a local kid from City Heights who was overweight and who struggled academically, Carlos was in need of some extra support. He found this support at Copley-Price. Through his involvement in soccer, Carlos met an inspiring role model in his coach, became physically healthier and lost weight, and formed life-long friendships.
As his soccer skills developed, so did his confidence. This confidence carried over into his schoolwork, where his grades suddenly improved. Even when he stopped playing soccer himself at Copley Family YMCA, Carlos decided to volunteer as a coach.
Seven years after he first came to the Y, Carlos became the first in his family to attend college when he was awarded a scholarship to San Diego State University. Today, in addition to going to school, Carlos is a part-time soccer coach at Copley-Price Family YMCA, where he is inspiring the next generation of kids to live healthy lives and grow into their best selves, just like he has.
THANK YOU for helping to support Carlos, and all the kids who have their lives changed by Copley-Price Family YMCA.
