Liz joined Camp Marston in February of 2014. She’s 24 and admires California’s state bird, the quail, which in turn admires her homeland with its characteristic call: chi-ca-go! She graduated from Saint Louis University with degrees in Biology and Spanish. Her favorite thing about camp is living with nature and watching kids grow, learn, and play outdoors. When she was an instructor, her favorite class to teach was trees, and she enjoyed taking students on nice long hikes through the mountains. She is proud of a song she recorded in Nashville, and when she grows up she wants to have a science-related kids TV show featuring a female (quite possibly herself) as the expert. Liz hopes to be a life-long traveler, learner, teacher, and explorer.
Erin Program Coordinator
Erin is from Califonia and has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Sonoma State University. While in college, Erin played ultimate Frisbee and still loves the sport today. As a child, she fell asleep at a Backstreet Boys concert. This traveler has been to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and countless National Parks...she hopes to continue exploring! Erin loves being outside every day and sharing her love for the environment at camp.
Peter hails from the great city of Chicago and attended school at Northern Michigan University. Living among the mountains is one of his favorite things about Camp Marston. One time, Peter hitch-hiked 100 miles. Listening to live music makes Peter very happy. When he grows up, he just wants to be a bigger kid. He likes teaching Survival Skills to campers.
Becca Program Instructor
Becca is from Bainbridge, New York and she is 24 years old.
She joins us from Camp Fitch where she was an Outdoor Education
Instructor. Becca has a twin sister who is currently living in New York.
Her hobbies include reading, riding horses, and exploring the outdoors in San Diego. Becca loves seeing the kids' expressions when they learn something new. Her favorite class to teach is Earth and Water. Becca would like to continue in the camping industry for a long time.
Alex is 24 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Recreation from Indiana University in Bloomington. An interesting fact about Alex is that she was born in Hawaii. In her free time, she likes to hang out in Barnes & Noble while sipping on Starbucks. The sound of campers singing is one of her favorite things about camp. Alex is excited to teach Animals class this season.
Shavon comes to us from another Julian summer camp down the road, and we are so excited for her to bring her experience to Camp Marston. Learning and growing are two of Shavon's favorite things about camp, and she is excited to be teaching Team-building and Animals classes. She loves reading and shopping, and one day, she hopes to be a school counselor.
Garrison Program Instructor
is from the Town of Washington Courthouse, Ohio. He studied
Agricultural and Extension Education at The Ohio State University. When
he grows up he wants to be a marathoner. This is Garrison’s first time
living or working outside of Ohio and he’s excited for this new
Ryan comes to us from Michigan, where he attended college at Michigan State University. He loves the community that you find at camp, especially loves rock climbing, playing water games, and ultimate Frisbee. Ryan happens to be left-handed and has traveled across the country twice. His favorite class to teach is Team-building.
Rose is originally from Kentucky and went to school for Psychology. Outside of camp Rose likes all forms of water sports, especially sailing, surfing, and kayaking. A fun fact about Rose is that she will be working in Alaska this upcoming summer. Rose's favorite class to teach is Earth and Water and when she grows up she wants to be an Adventure Guide.
Kyle joins the team from Saratoga Springs, New York where he achieved a B.A. in Psychology from Fairfield University. Kyle's favorite thing about camp is making new friends of all ages. In his spare time he enjoys movies, running, and video games. An interesting fact about Kyle is that he has twin sisters that are younger than him. Kyle loves to teach Team Building class and when he grows up he wants to be an Educator.
Ian joins the Marston team from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Temple University and has previous camp experience on the East Coast. His favorite thing about camp is being able to teach outside and giving kids new experiences that allow them to succeed in life. In his spare time Ian enjoys going to the shore and playing in the waves. His favorite class to teach is Team Building class.
Mary joins the team all the way from Queensbury, New York. She has a B.A. in English and Sociology and a Masters in Childhood Education. Her favorite thing about camp is being able to be outside and silly all day long, as well as learning and growing with awesome kids. A fun fact about Mary is that two of her toes are connected together. When she grows up she wants to continue doing what she loves in either Education or camping and her favorite class to teach is Trees and Team Building.
Cassie has been working as part of the Camp Marston family for over ten years! She is from San Diego and studied photography at SDSU. Cassie's favorite thing about camp is getting to know many different kids from many different backgrounds. Her hobbies include observing the night sky, listening to music, going to the beach, and teaching herself guitar. When she eventually leaves camp (we hope she never does), she wants to be a party rental business owner. Her favorite color is, of course, purple.
Angelina Health Center Coordinator
Angelina hails from the small town of Winsted, Connecticut. At 25 years old, she’s been working in YMCA camping all over the country for 7 years and absolutely loves camp. Angelina joined us here at Camp Marston in January 2014. Her favorite things about camp are the stars and the people. She is very excited to put her background in wilderness medicine and love for helping others to great use as a Health Center Coordinator. When she’s not working you might find her playing in the snow somewhere or painting something cool.
Nick Program Instructor
Nick is from Pennsylvania and has been at Camp Marston since Fall 2014. He has a degree from Wilkes University in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Nick loves meeting great people and creating great experiences for everyone who comes to camp. He has two brothers, and his favorite class to teach is Earth and Water.
AJ Program Instructor
is 23 years old from El Centro, California. He is working towards a
Forestry degree and EMT certification to fulfill his lifetime dream of saving trees and humans. The camp life found AJ at a young age and he's never looked back. At camp, he loves being surrounded by nature, as well as camp gnomes. AJ's favorite class to teach is Trees.
Frankie is 22 years old from Vista, California. Frankie is a very talented production engineer and, before coming to Camp Marston, he worked as a production manager. In his free time, he plays soccer, board games, and the guitar. Frankie loves to dabble in various forms of music and poetry. His favorite thing about camp is getting to know the students. After one season of Outdoor Education, Frankie has grown to love teaching Animals. In the future, he would like to work in music production.
Lacie Program Instructor
Lacie comes to Camp Marston from Oceanside, California. She loves to hike and backpack, and one day she would like to hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail. Lacie loves camp, because she gets to be outside and teach kids about the awesomeness that is nature. An interesting fact about Lacie is that she has 8 brothers and sisters. She is also recently bionic after a surgery involving 16 screws and 2 metal plates. If she had to choose a favorite class, she would pick Survival Skills.
Krysta is one of our few California natives this season. After spending the summer at camp, she is excited to be teaching and working with sixth graders as an instructor. Krysta likes to surf and she is close to having a black belt in karate. She's not sure what she wants to be when she grows up, but she knows it involves traveling. Krysta looks forward to teaching Trees this fall.
Mikey is 23 years old and comes to us from Hercules, California. He then obtained a Marketing degree from Cal State San Bernardino. His favorite thing about camp is the fresh air and the starry skies at night. An interesting fact about Mikey is that he can lick his elbow. Mikey is new to the team but his favorite class to teach is Activities class and if he could be anything in the world he would like to be a Velociraptor.
Anthony comes to us from Cliffside Park, New Jersey and is currently earning his degree in Education. His favorite thing about camp is all the interesting people who come into his life. His favorite thing to do outside of camp is hang out with his friends and watch movies. An interesting fact about Anthony is he once played Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. When he grows up he wants to be a Summer Camp Director and his favorite class to teach is Team Building.
Ana is returning to us after a brief visit home in Brazil. She has had many roles at camp including: an Instructor, a Coordinator, and even Head Wrangler during the summer at Raintree Ranch. She loves horses and her favorite activity is Volleyball. Outside of camp Any loves to hang out with her American friends and watch movies. Ana's favorite class is Animals and Trees.
Camille joins us for her first season of Outdoor Education. She is very passionate about kids and showing them why the environment is awesome. Her favorite class to teach is Earth and Water because she enjoys teaching students how they play an important role in the environment.
