CAMP Registration information

Welcome

Welcome to YMCA day camps, where we are dedicated to improving the quality of human life and helping all people realize their fullest potential as children of God through the development of spirit, mind and body.

We are an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited camp, which means that we meet or exceed the highest standards in camping services.

Our camp line-up is ALWAYS full of fun and new adventures! Look for camp opportunities at our Border View and South Bay branches.

Our dedicated, experienced, and energetic staff team hopes that your camper will join us as we provide a safe, inspired environment where they will create memories that will last a lifetime. At the Y, we are for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Registration Process

The South Bay Family Y and Border View Family Y offer "early bird" pricing on all Day Camps. This pricing lasts up to the TUESDAY prior to a camp session start date and will go up to normal pricing the Tuesday prior to a camp's start date

On-Line

Register on-line at www.borderview.ymca.org Simply select the camps you are interested in and pay with your credit card. Please note on-line registration is only available up to noon on the Friday before the camp’s start date.

If you have a first-time camper we require registering in person at one of our locations. This will enable us to obtain a hard copy of your registration for our records.

Complete the enclosed registration form and bring it to the branch that you are registering for, either:

Membership

We invite all our campers and families to become members of the South Region YMCA.Campers who are part of a family membership will receive the discounted member rate on each camp they attend! Family membership also includes access to multiple facilities, including Border View, South Bay, and Eastlake. Spend time as a family enjoying fun at the pool, exercising, and staying healthy.


Transfers

If space is available, deposits and payments may be transferred to another fall day camp up to one week prior to either the week registered, or the week transferring to, whichever is first. Deposits may not be combined or transferred to the same camp. If a transfer is desired once your camper’s week begins a Transfer Request must be completed at the camp’s AM/PM desk. A Director or Coordinator’s approval will then be necessary for the transfer to be complete.

CAMP REFUND AND VOUCHER POLICY

·Before the start date of each camp session:

100% voucher or refund (customer’s choice) less program deposit

·After the first day of camp:

75% voucher or refund (customer’s choice) less program deposit

·After the second day of camp:

$0 refund or voucher

(medical/special circumstance at the Camp Director’s discretion)

Vouchers may be used by any member of your family for any YMCA of San Diego County program.

Scholarships

We are dedicated to ensuring that no family is unable to attend our YMCA Day Camp Program because of an inability to pay. If you are interested in seeking a camp scholarship, please visit our web-site to download an application. You can also call us at: Border View (619) 428-9622 for more information. Please allow five business days to process your scholarship request. Your application will require the first two pages of your 2014 tax return, 2014 W2’s, current paycheck stubs, and current bank statements.

Special Assistance and One-on-One Aides

No child should be without a camp experience! We strive to accommodate all campers into our programs. However, our capacity to accommodate children in need of special assistance will depend upon which camps are best suited for the camper, and the resources we can provide with one-on-one buddies and Inclusion Aides. For summer camp this typically equates to three consecutive weeks of camp.

Requests must be made prior to registration if your camper needs special assistance. In order for us to properly plan for camp, all requests for special assistance must be made by Monday, May 9th to be considered for Week 1 of camp.
