  • County YMCA formed to serve rest of County

  • City and County YMCAs merge

1964

  • La Jolla YMCA opened new facility in La Jolla

1969

  • YMCA Camp Raintree Ranch (adjacent to YMCA Camp Marston) purchased and YMCA Camp Surf leased from the U.S. Navy

1970

  • Peninsula Family YMCA branch in Point Loma chartered

1974

  • Santa Margarita Family YMCA chartered
  • Border View Family YMCA began as extension of South Bay YMCA

1981

  • Mission Valley YMCA branch building completed
  • Palomar Family YMCA moved into new building

1982

  • 100 Years of service celebrated

1985

  • Border View Family YMCA chartered as a branch
  • New Downtown YMCA opened in Armed Services YMCA building

1987

  • YMCA secures new land donation for YMCA in Rancho Penasquitos (Rancho Family YMCA)

1988

  • North Coast YMCA completes major facility expansion and renames branch Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA
  • La Jolla YMCA opens the Firehouse Teen/Senior Center

1992

  • Mission Valley YMCA completes new building addition

1994

  • Rancho Family YMCA chartered as a branch

1995

  • Rancho Family YMCA Phase I Facility completed

1998

  • South Bay Family YMCA celebrated grand opening of new facility in Rancho Del Rey
  • Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA celebrated new gymnasium grand opening

2000

  • Rancho Family YMCA Phase II completed
  • Copley Family YMCA Youth Center opens

2001

  • YMCA celebrates 150th Anniversary in United States

2003

  • Santa Margarita YMCA becomes Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA and opens Phase 1 Facility in Oceanside
  • Turning Point Transitional Living opens
  • East County Family YMCA opens new Cameron Family YMCA in Santee
  • Balboa Youth Community Center opens

  • Border View Family YMCA secures lease for facility from Sweetwater School District
  • Tommy's Place Transitional Living opens
  • Palomar Family YMCA expands with addition of dual gymnasium and 6,000 sq. ft. health center

  • Toby Wells celebrates grand opening

  • East County Family YMCA celebrates grand opening of the McGrath Family YMCA Sports Complex
